5 Simple Tips for Positive Thinking

Today, we wanted to share our top 5 tips for increasing your health and happiness. They are short little activities and exercises you can add to your day to day life, and they will make a big difference to your overall wellbeing. Using the tools of positive psychology regularly will cultivate your internal sense of wisdom & happiness.  Developing this internal capacity is so much more important than chasing endless consumerism and celebrity illusions which can never be your true keys to happiness !

1. Invest in the time and resources to look after yourself

Blocking out diary time to spend regularly on your well-being is not an idle luxury.  It is essential to nurture and invest in your own seeds of greatness.  Rituals that ground your physical and mental fitness are vital because you are worth spending that time on just developing you.

2. Stop comparing yourself to others.

If the grass looks greener on the other side… Stop staring. Stop comparing. Stop complaining and START watering the grass you’re standing on. Instead focus on the good things, write five things you are grateful for each day. And always remember that you are comparing your insides and feelings, to others outsides and what they project. You don't know what's happening in another person's life, so don't waste time making comparisons.

3. Let go of expired ideals

Growth is painful. Change is painful. But in the end, nothing is as painful as staying stuck somewhere you do not belong.

4. Remember that you are Not what you physically own; so declutter a space in your home

You are an incredible human being who’s entirely detached from what you have physically acquired in this world. Remember to remain humble. Ultimately, two things define you more than anything else: Your patience when you have very little, and your attitude when you have more than enough.

Spend an afternoon/evening/morning this week, and clear away some of the clutter, it will be a weight off your shoulders to have a clear space that is no longer a mess of things you no longer need.

5. Seek out quality professional psychological guidance and performance coaching

It is a sign of wisdom and maturity to ask for tools and strategies that enable you to be the best you can be.  Nothing could be less helpful than the false myth that it is a sign of weakness to ask for help.   Strong, successful people know that by asking for help at different stages in their life, they gain increasing personal power, resilience and long term happiness.
