A Christmas with less stress and more love
Christmas is a time for less stress, less conflict and more Love – Enjoy some of our positive psychology approaches to help this flow better for everyone in the family.
Remember that Christmas is not about a competition to choose the best gifts or host the biggest luncheon, or be the happiest family. Instead, choose to simply focus on a sense of gratitude and appreciation for anything that is currently going well for the people in your life whom you care about.
A flower does not compete with the flower next to it….A flower simply grows and blooms!
Be assertive and politely say no to social and party occasions that you sense will drain rather than relax you. It is OK not to rush around to every Christmas event in the calendar for the illusion that the business of being in high social demand will make us happy. Choose to focus on those selected relationships and special events that nurture your spirit and create meaningful conversations and connections that honour your true self.
Make it a priority to nurture and reconnect with your own inner needs and heartfelt desires during the holiday break that you will hopefully get from your workplace. This could be as simple as lying in a hammock in the backyard, sleeping in each morning, reading a good book or walking barefoot in the parklands or your favourite beach. All adults have an inner child within us who needs to be acknowledged, nurtured and given some playful fun times to relax and rejuvenate.
By choosing to rush less, rest more, soften your heart and be at gentle peace over the Christmas break, we believe that the quality of relationships and joy that resonates out for you and your family over Christmas will increase 10 fold – Merry Christmas to All !
